Iraq/Afghanistan veterans PAC lists Griffin in ‘OPERATION 10-IN-10’

LITTLE ROCK
– Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin was today named as one of ten select candidates as part of ‘OPERATION 10-IN-10,’ organized by the Vets for Freedom Political Action Committee (VFF-PAC), the largest Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans organization in America.

According to VFF-PAC, ‘OPERATION 10-IN-10’ is a “select list of ten endorsed candidates for Congressional office, all of which are Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who are viable challengers for competitive U.S. House races.”

The candidates selected for ‘OPERATION 10-IN-10’ are officers ranging from Colonel to Lieutenant.  Griffin holds the rank of Major and is in his 13th year in the U.S. Army Reserve.

“In 2006 and 2008, there were only a few Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who legitimately had a chance to win House races. This year, there are ten—and we’re going to make sure they win.” said Pete Hegseth, Executive Director of VFF-PAC.  “This is the beginning of a movement. America’s newest warrior class is running to take back Washington, and inject a much-needed dose of courage, honor, and principle into Capitol Hill. These men understand the threats we face as a nation, and what it takes to ensure our war-fighters and commanders in the field—especially in Iraq and Afghanistan—have the resources, strategy, and support they need to win.”

Griffin, who served in Iraq in 2006 and earned the endorsement of Vets for Freedom on April 13, said: “I am honored to be part of this group of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and look forward to serving with my fellow officers in the House next year.  We will fight for our brothers and sisters in uniform, so they have the resources and support needed to win and job opportunities when we welcome them home.”

The complete list of the 10 candidates in ‘OPERATION 10-IN-10’, along with bios, can be found at http://www.vetsforfreedom.org/pac/Operation10-in-10/.
