Calls Eichler an ‘important voice’ for campaign

LITTLE ROCK
– Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today named Arkansas Service Commission member Kelly Eichler of Little Rock as the campaign’s Pulaski County Chairman.

As county chairman, Eichler will serve as a point person for Pulaski County supporters.  She will also provide leadership for the campaign’s get-out-the-vote effort.

“Kelly knows the importance of a well-run campaign organization. She is an important voice and trusted friend whose advice moves our campaign forward daily,” Griffin said.  “I am proud to have her on our team.”

In 2008, Eichler ran for the District 38 seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives.  She was defeated for the traditionally Democratic seat by less than 100 votes.

“I am supporting Tim because he is the type of common sense conservative leader we need representing us in Congress,” Eichler said.  “We must have a well-organized and well-funded conservative candidate who can earn the trust of Arkansans regardless of political party.  Tim Griffin has shown he is that candidate.”

Eichler was appointed to the Arkansas Service Commission in May 2009 by Gov. Mike Beebe.  She is also a member of the foundation board of the Centers for Youth and Families in Little Rock.

After earning her law degree at UALR, Eichler worked as a deputy prosecutor and attorney ad litem, advocating for children in abuse and neglect cases.

A former criminal justice advisor to Gov. Mike Huckabee, Eichler served two terms on the Arkansas Commission on Child Abuse, Rape and Domestic Violence and was appointed by Huckabee to a seven-year term on the Arkansas Board of Corrections.

Eichler has also served as a Special Judge for the Circuit Court in Pulaski County and is a past president of the Forest Park Elementary PTA.
