Rhoda a ‘major asset’ who will help spread campaign message
LITTLE ROCK – Second District Congressional candidate, U.S. Army Reservist and former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin today named longtime Clinton resident Dr. Johnny Rhoda as his campaign’s Van Buren County Chairman.
Rhoda, who also serves as the Republican Party of Arkansas’s Second Congressional District Chairman, will serve as the key campaign contact person for Griffin supporters in Van Buren County.
Griffin won Van Buren County in the May 18 Republican Primary with 76% of the vote.
“Johnny is a major asset to our campaign,” Griffin said. “I am honored to have him on my team. Johnny is a conservative leader in Arkansas, and I know he will be a great help in spreading our message of common sense conservative values to the voters of Van Buren County.”
Rhoda has been a member of the RPA since 1986, and has been a member of the RPA Executive Committee since 2004.
“Van Buren County is a conservative county, and we need a conservative leader like Tim Griffin to represent our values in Congress,” Rhoda said. “He will say ‘yes’ to Arkansas, not his party. Our voice and our values will be his priority.”
Rhoda is a veteran of the U.S. Army, honorably discharged holding the rank of captain. A former company commander in the 82nd Airborne, Rhoda looks forward to helping elect Griffin to Congress.
"As a veteran, I want to make sure the Second District continues to be represented by someone with military experience," Rhoda said. "With so few veterans in Congress, it is important we unite to elect one of our own. I look forward to speaking with fellow veterans about Tim, and how he will stand with us."
Rhoda, who holds a PhD in Business Administration from Belford University, has a history of business management lasting nearly 30 years. He is currently a director and the managing agent of Island Financial Group, P.L.L.C., in Clinton. He also serves on the board of Dawn International, Inc., and is chairman of the board for Word and Faith Christian Church, where he is also pastor. Rhoda also serves as superintendent of the Cornerstone Christian Academy in Clinton.
